Cream Puffs

I made a Choux Pastry today for my Cream Puffs. It is very easy to make and it only requires simple ingredients like flour, butter, salt and sugar.

Recipe from Joy of Baking.


Choux Pastry:
1/2 cup (65 grams) all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon granulated white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) (57 grams) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1/2 cup (120 ml) water
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
Glaze:
1 large egg
Whipped Cream:
1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream (double cream) (35-40% butterfat)
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 tablespoons granulated white sugar, or to taste
Garnish:
Powdered (Confectioners or icing sugar)

The dough expanded tremendously but it turned out great.
Tip: Baked for 400C for approximately 5minutes. Then lower the heat to 350 so it won't burn.

Dust with Powdered Sugar

and here is the finished product!  

(I used a ready made Bavarian Filling)

  1. wow! ang sarap nito! never tried it lagi kong nakakalimutan :) yung filling ko powder nga lang masubukan nga gumawa nito with your recipe bago pa ma expire ang aking pang-filling. buti me bavarian filling dyan in bottle masarap din yan sa donut ah (",)

  2. Masarap sya MAruh! try mo chocolate Ganache ang topping instead of powdered sugar. Oo meron nabibili dito na Bavarian filling kaya naisip ko nga gawin ito. Masarap din sa donut kaso di ko pa na try gumawa ng home made donuts eh..next time siguro *wink*
